Getting to Datça
By plane
The nearest airports are Dalaman (about 2.5 hours) and Milas-Bodrum (about 2.5 hours). From either airport you can reach Datça by bus via Marmaris or by rental car.
By road
Marmaris to Datça is about 70 km (1.5 hours) along a scenic road above the Gulf of Hisarönü. Regular minibuses run from Muğla and Marmaris bus stations to Datça.
By sea
In summer, regular ferries connect Bodrum and Datça (about 2 hours), also carrying vehicles. Booking ahead is recommended in high season.
Places to See
Ancient City of Knidos
An ancient port city at the tip of the peninsula where two seas meet. Day three of the festival takes place here, in the traces of its medical school, temple of Aphrodite and theatre.
The Carian Trail
The Datça stages of one of Türkiye's longest way-marked trails; the festival's day-two morning hike follows it. Comfortable shoes, a hat and water are essential.
Almonds and the sea
Datça is famous for its almonds — be sure to try local almond products at the cooperative stands. For swimming, there is no need to leave the festival grounds: Palamutbükü has some of the clearest water on the peninsula. Along its nearly kilometre-long pebble beach the sea is turquoise and calm, staying refreshingly cool even at midday; in the early morning the water is often mirror-flat. Beach venues along the shore offer sunbeds and shade, and you are only steps away from the festival stands. Sunset is the cove's finest moment — a swim before the evening programme is a true Palamutbükü tradition.
Practical Information
August heat
Daytime temperatures can reach 35°C. Keep a hat, sunscreen and a water bottle with you, and use shaded areas during outdoor events.
Festival venue
The main festival grounds are at Palamutbükü, about a 25-minute drive from Datça centre. Site layout and details will be announced on this page and on social media.
